Essential Oils for knee injury

Your knees are one of those joints that is often injured. Many people have the need for surgery to either repair or replace knee tissue that is not working properly. It is best to use anti-inflammatory oils a day after the injury. Some inflammation is good so that your body can bring blood and other white blood cells to the injury to heal. After about a day you can start putting oil on the site of injury.

I like to add 4-5 drops mixed with 4-5 drops of fractionated coconut oil. This way it doesn’t irritate the skin and the oil goes much further in helping the knee injury. Using this essential oil for knee injury is a must!

2. Eucalyptus

Another great addition to the repertroire of essential oils for knee injury is Eucalyptus. You may have smelled this powerful oil in things such as cough drops or anything to do with opening the passageways to the lungs when you are sick. It works great for those things but it also works just as well for pain and injury of soft tissue. Many who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis will use this oil to help the pain and swelling from that disease. The same is true for injury. This oil can help mitigate the pain that is often associated with knee injury.

Be careful with this oil as it is very strong and potent. Using a carrier oil such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil is a must. Using 4-5 drops with carrier oil on the knee joint will help to ease the burden of pain during an injury. Use this 2-3 times a day to help with the knee pain from injury.

3. Frankincense

Frankincense is nature's gift to us for rejuvenating the body. It has many properties that help heal and nourish a body that is in disrepair. By using a few drops of this powerful oil on or near the area of knee injury will help stimulate the bodies natural ability to heal itself.

Applying these oils on the skin you want to use caution. Some oils can irritate the skin and using a carrier oils such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil is recommended. Applying 1-2 drops of essential oil with 1-2 drops of carrier oil is good for direct use on the skin and overlying the knee. You can also mix these oils in a roller bottle or other essential oil bottle and apply it to the area.
